My blog is a way for me to share in the wonder of each day. I know there are others like me that due to medical issues have our days numbered and would like to make the most of them in a positive and gifting way for ourselves and for those around us.

Time for Change..

It's time for a change! I wanted to create a 3 colume page with a matching background but that didn't happen, at least not yet. As you can see, I chose a fairly homey look with my own Christmas Cactus to display. With this coninuing Winter weather I felt like wrapping up in a ginham patterned quilt and reading a long novel while drinking some hot chocolate. Ahhh.. Anyway, now that I finally have my new computer up and running I can get back to posting again and visiting in between.

I am happy right now because I haven't had anymore infections for about 2 months now and I am looking forward to a much more healthy summer this year. I hope to be in the background of everyone's worries this year and I am hoping to really enjoy each day and oportunity to get out of the house and seeing people or soaking up some sunshine and fresh air. Enough is enough and I'm ready for a new start. ( We won't focus on things that could go wrong but what will be right).

My sister Brenda invited my daughter Amber and her kids over to decorate Valentines Day cookies and they sure were all sweet about it.
Their hands, faces and tounges were all sweet and their kisses were too.

They shared their beautiful work with those of us who didn't mind a little finger licking good frosting (if you know what I mean).

I am holding an art class today for Mariah and Grace, both 8 years old. Each of them recently learned how to and did make their own color wheels using only the primary colors, red, blue and yellow. Now they get to use their new found techniques to mix their own colors and to plan out and paint their own pictures. This is a great way to learn how all the colors we see around us in nature and in man made items are made. Since white is actually 'no' color, it can be used to lighten the primary colors so they will be able to use some of that to make pink, lavendar, etc.
Well, I decided to break off until after our little class. First they each had to plan what they wanted to paint and list the subjects for their painting and the colors they wanted to use.
Then they drew their pattern on paper, and followed up by using some tracing paper I had and tracing their pattern on their canvas board. After that they got to mix their own colors and paint their artist rendition.

Then they each got to display their art work and the coloir wheel they created for the project. I think they are proud, don't you? I know I am.

Our olde English Bully Dogge, Myrtle, has been inside all winter and hasn't gotten enough exercise. Along with all the finger snacks she get's from my husband, myself and my sister, she has gained alot of weight. Of course, she is very wide and solid just from her bully frame but now there are a few rolls to be seen on her sides and thickness everywhere. Her walks, when she get's them show her tiredness and need for much more than what she's getting. Just another reason for spring to hurry up and get here as far as I'm concerned.
That's enough for this blog so until next time...Gift yourself to someone today!
